NEC emphasizes tutoring in Mathematics, English, and SAT/ACT
test preparation, but students may also receive Spanish and Science
tutoring by arrangement. All classes are taught by qualified instructors
with undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in their fields as well
as relevant teaching and work experience.
Each class consist of one qualified instructor and 2-8 students,
with 5 students on average per class. Separated into Junior and
Senior Departments, Junior level classes are for grades K-8 and
will be divided by grade level. Senior level classes are all-inclusive
of students in any high school grade level 9-12. For exceptional
students or those seeking more challenging materials, students may
take classes in a higher grade level.
Junior level English classes include Vocabulary/Spelling, Grammar/Writing,
Reading Comprehension/Literature, and Research/Technology Competence.
Junior level math classes include Number Sense, Estimation and Measurement,
Analytical and Geometric Methods, Data Analysis, and Probability.
Senior level English classes include Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading
Comprehension, and Essay Writing. Senior level math classes include
Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics,
AP Classes, and SAT/ACT preparation.

NEC also offers morning Kindergarten classes with music and art
appreciation and other fun activities each day.
